Companion Animal Veterinarian - Geraldine or Timaru, South Canterbury
About the job
Aorangi Vets is searching for a forward-thinking companion animal veterinarian who values and complements our growing team.
Roles can be tailored to individual preferences as we’re proud to develop with our vets and look after our team.
This role could be located at our Timaru or Geraldine clinics, with location being agreed with the successful candidate.
Remuneration is competitive and negotiable, based upon experience, skill set, and ability.
We are an owner/operator mixed animal practice proudly serving South and Mid Canterbury and the Mackenzie Country for more than 45 years.
With clinics in Geraldine, Fairlie, and Timaru, our vision is to be the people’s vet practice of choice. Judging by our loyal client base, featuring several intergenerational families, we think we’re on the right track.
We are a team who fosters positive relationships through communication and awareness and we’re proud to deliver progressive evidence based veterinary medicine. We focus on preventative animal health to improve the lives of people and their animals.
Our private independent practice places value on having a high-functioning collegial team, that achieves our goals while having fun. We consider ourselves a supportive, and quality-motivated practice. Our emphasis is on providing high standards of client care, good outcomes, and a sense of satisfaction from a job well done.
We have nursing and technician teams to support us in providing excellent vet medicine. This allows us to practice preventative medicine with an animal health and wellbeing focus in a positive environment.
We have a significant farm animal and companion animal client base and as you would expect in modern vet clinics, we are fully equipped with all diagnostic, routine, and specialist surgical equipment.
Many of our vets have areas of special interest: small animal reproduction, orthopaedics, emergency medicine, sheep AI, acupuncture, cattle nutrition, and membership in dairy cattle medicine. We value continued learning and find it rewarding helping our clients.
Mentorship is available and actively encouraged. Our after-hours roster is minimal and varies with seasonal demands.
