Vetlife is a large, privately-owned veterinary practice on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. As a result of the continuing expansion of the business, we currently have an opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to drive our training and development systems. Based in our Administration office in Timaru, your focus will be to ensure that Training and Development is a priority in the Vetlife culture. You will work within a dedicated team of clinical and non-clinical professionals, spread across 20 sites throughout Canterbury and Otago who offer veterinary products and services (companion and production animals) to the community. This is a part-time role up to 30 hours per week.
A key focus for this role will be to create and maintain a Training and Development system that is dynamic and continuously improving to meet the needs of all colleagues. You will work closely with the management team, line managers and clinic leaders to deliver regular initiatives to sustain a high level of engagement and commitment to an active learning culture that is focused towards the growth and annual plans of the business. You will take responsibility for ensuring that induction and training modules are available, current and consistently delivered to all employees and that knowledge and skills of permanent staff are maintained to the required standard. You will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring a robust recording and reporting system, making recommendations based on regular training needs analysis.
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for workplace induction, training and development. You will probably have held a similar position and have a desire to use your skills and experience in a dynamic and growing business. You will be an excellent administrator and have great communication and people skills as well as having a structured and organised approach to your role. You will be comfortable with information technology and possess well-honed reporting skills. It would be an advantage to have an understanding of the veterinary or agri-business sector.
If you are interested in this exciting opportunity to foster and influence a positive development culture at all levels of the Vetlife organisation and to develop your own career in this field, please apply in confidence via the Seek system.
