He angitūtanga: The opportunity
In this role, you will work across a wide variety of people and groups, assisting the Animal Management team with queries and public issues surrounding dog and stock control. You will be responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of your fellow Animal Management Officers through focussing on continual assessment of competency in the field. You will also act as a deputy to the Team Leader Animal Management, training and coaching team members and be responsible for the coordination of key region-wide projects and initiatives.
This role requires working on a rostered shift across seven days and will include evening and weekend work.

A natural collaborator, we’ll value your strong relationship building skills as you will be working with customers, complainants and external bodies such as the Police, SPCA and Local Boards. Proficient in dealing with prosecution files and knowledge of court processes, you have proven experience in leadership, training and coaching staff.
