The Team Manager Establishment for Wanganui is looking for a Veterinary Technical Supervisor Reliever to join the team.
About the role | Kōrero mō te tūranga
This reliever role is based in the Taranaki region, with plants ranging from Stratford to Wanganui and potentially further afield. The core of this role is to provide relief to cover both short and medium term leave at the premises based in the Taranaki region. However, there is the potential to travel further afield and also to provide occasional relief at circuit premises in the region as required.
In this position you will undertake verification activities in line with current legislation and organisational requirements, thereby permitting the issue of official assurances.
Applicants must be flexible and prepared to travel away from home as and when required (a fleet vehicle & phone will be provided).
Taranaki is a family orientated, friendly region that is well serviced and within easy reach of popular recreational surf beaches and weekend holiday hotspots such as Opunake and Oakura. The region is home to Mount Taranaki, which offers a huge range of outdoor activities, from strolls through native forests and multi-day hikes, to river rafting and winter snow sports. About the Team | Mō tō mātou rōpū
Reporting to the Team Manager Establishment Wanganui, the role sits within the Establishment group of the Verification Services directorate. MPI Verification Services (MPI VS) provides a range of food safety and biosecurity verification and certification services to support market access strategies and setting standards.
Skills & Experience | Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako
- A Qualified and registered Veterinarian
- Knowledge of the principles and practices associated with HACCP, Quality Assurance systems, Risk Management Systems
- Verbal and written skills, verbal and analytical reasoning skills
- Integrity and trust, ethics and values, resilience, adaptability and openness
- Persuading and influencing, team work, planning and organising
- Computer literacy– can operate standard and customised software to an acceptable standard e.g. word-processing, excel, internet, email, database, secure sites, electronic certification, residues etc
- An understanding of basic food technology
As a Reliever you will need to flexible, happy with working with ambiguity and a quick learner- the ability to pick things up quickly and run with it is key in this role. Someone who is comfortable working in different environments and likes variety would be perfect.
