Lecturer - Veterinary Nursing

UCOL's Faculty of Health and Sciences is seeking a highly motivated academic, or a suitably qualified Veterinary professional who wishes to move into academia as a Lecturer in the New Zealand Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. This is a permanent 16 hours per week (0.4FTE) position based at the Palmerston North campus.
The New Zealand Diploma in Veterinary Nursing qualifies you as a Vet Nurse. It also opens the door for its graduates to a broad range of animal health careers - from vet clinics, zoos, animal shelters, pet shops, wildlife parks, laboratories to agricultural and animal health sales and as the clinical lecturer of this programme you will be naturally inspiring, bringing a passion and love of this career path which will flow through your programme delivery and guidance to all within the class.
To fill this position we are looking for a suitable candidate who is capable of classroom and practical teaching anaesthesia at levels 5 and 6. Strong communication skills and innovation are key skills. In order to deliver the best programme to your students you will be expected to use effective teaching skills that meet the needs of a variety of students. The successful applicant will be naturally inspiring, bringing a passion and love of this career path which will flow through your programme delivery and guidance to our students.
You will have a Veterinary Nursing Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent. It would be a strong advantage if you had at least two years industry experience. Previous teaching experience and completion of the Certificate in Adult Teaching (Advanced) (CATA) or equivalent would be of benefit to students.
