Are you an enthusiastic and positive Large Animal Veterinarian looking for your next challenge? Are you wanting a change to a beautiful part of the country with lots of sunshine, laughs and fantastic clients? If you are a great team player with excellent communication, a high level of organisational skills and initiative and love working with great colleagues in a role with plenty of variety then this could be the job for you!

We are looking for a motivated veterinarian to help support our team of veterinarians to continue to provide excellent client service. The position is for a large animal vet with an interest in equine - it would suit someone who enjoys dairy work but wants something more! The majority of the role would be dairy and equine work, with the remainder consisting mainly of sheep and beef and lifestyle work. This is the job for you if you want variety and enjoy clinical work within a fun and relaxed team.

Applicants should preferably have at least two years experience in large animal practice and be competent in general equine work including wound management, basic lameness work up and dentistry. Te Puke Veterinary Centre is a private practice and a shareholding is possible for the right candidate wanting to help drive the business, in particular the equine work. Applicants need to be enthusiastic, have good communication skills and want to be part of a team committed to providing quality service. Large animal duty is separate from the companion animal side and is shared between four to five large animal veterinarians. Call outs over summer, autumn and winter are minimal. The position is full time but extra time off / job sharing could be available if desired.

Te Puke Vet Centre is a mixed veterinary practice known for its friendly, caring and relaxed work atmosphere, with a great reputation amongst the community. Te Puke is a great town nestled in the stunning Bay of Plenty. It is well known for being the Kiwifruit capital of the world, and is a stones throw away from all of the fabulous beaches and sea and lake-side towns in the area, such as Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, the Rotorua lakes and Taupo. The area offers a wide variety of outdoor and recreational activities including fishing, diving, water skiing, mountain biking and tramping.
