Diploma Qualified Veterinary Nurse - Auckland Central, St Lukes, Morningside Drive

We are looking for an additional Veterinary Nurse to join our expanding team

St Lukes Veterinary Centre is an independently owned modern NZVA BEST Practice accredited clinic with all the latest equipment. We pride ourselves on providing high quality patient care to our really great client base.

We encourage our nurses to use their full range of skills. We foster a caring and fun environment, where we can all have a laugh together, but also get stuck in and work hard. There is a café a few doors down where some of us are on a first name basis! We are a 4-vet practice and you would be an addition to our current 7 full and part time nurses along with our 3 support staff who help with reception and the cattery.

As nurses, we enjoy doing a lot of the technical work such as blood collection and iv catheter placements, premedications, anaesthetic induction and maintenance, digital radiology (including dental) , hospital care and nursing consults. The clinic performs a lot of involved soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, and the nurses love scrubbing in for these!

The clinic has a spacious prep area and two surgical tables in a dedicated theatre, as well as separate dental and xray/ultrasound suites.  The clinic is well equipped to help you provide a gold standard level of nursing including multiple multi-monitors (Capnograph, ECG, Sp02, BP, MAC), a full IDEXX laboratory suite, fluid pumps, syringe pumps, 2 large autoclaves and a dedicated surgical scrubbing area. We use Ezyvet for our booking systems and VetRadar for our hospital and surgical patients.

There is a 1 in 6 Saturday morning roster (9-1pm) with the Monday prior a rostered day off. CPD is encouraged and provided for along with NZVNA membership and competitive remuneration.

We are ideally looking for a Diploma or equivalent qualified Veterinary Nurse with 2-3 years’ experience, but newer graduates will be considered for the right candidate. If you have a happy, bubbly personality, enjoy being part of a friendly team and are keen to take a step up to the next level in your veterinary nursing career, then we would love to hear from you!
