Ever dream of the tropical island beauty that is Aitutaki? Want to help the community create a more sustainable environment for it’s animals? Then pLOOKING FOR A CHANGE???

Are you a caring and enthusiast small animal veterinarian looking for a change into a large supportive team? Join our Privately owned practice where you can spread your wings and no need for KPIs or targets. Where individual strengths are encouraged and we are always keen to upgrade with new toys.

We are a busy clinic that has a great reputation and has more than trebled in size in the last few years. We just have to keep expanding and still have plenty of space to continue after recent renovations!

We can offer you an experienced veterinarian team who enjoy working up cases thoroughly and offer an exemplary standard of care. We have two fully qualified nurses PER vet so you always have an extra set of superb hands available. They are skilled and can do absolutely anything you ask and offer good banter to boot.

CPD is encouraged - as is forming great relationships with our many awesome clients. We are in a good socio-economic area and many of our patients are insured so work-ups are easily offered. Not too much need to cut corners.

Our full-time rosters are under forty hours a week so you can kiss long hours goodbye. Shifts stay the same every week and working days are 7.5-8 hours except if it’s a really manic day and you need to help your team mates out for a bit longer! You won’t work Sundays, after hours or public holidays. Saturdays are short, always shared with another vet and on a 1 in 3 roster.

We have all the mod cons, ultrasound, digital X-ray, vetscan, sterile theatre, three consult rooms, IM3 dental machine, fluid pumps, Bair huggers, central air conditioning and VIN membership.

This role is suited to a veterinarian wanting to settle down into a role for their long term future career progression. It is not suitable for a new graduate (we already have one sorry). A keen interest in surgery or medicine or even both is great. Even throwing in exotics if they float your boat. We do have veterinarians that enjoy working with rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens!

We are extremely passionate about rescue work and support one of the biggest cat rescues in Auckland as well as having our own charity for the animals of Niue Island . These are not just your standard desexing and vaccinations either!!! We see many challenging and fascinating medical and surgical cases.

Position available mid February as one of our long standing staff members leaves for the pathway to her new adventures abroad.

Pay is based on experience and is competitive.
