Are you an enthusiastic, positive and proactive Large Animal Veterinary Technician looking for your next challenge? Are you a great team player with excellent communication and a high level of organisational skills and initiative? If you enjoy working with both people and animals, and love working with great colleagues in a role with plenty of variety then this could be the job for you!

We are looking for a LAVT to come join our team to help us continue to grow our production animal offering and support our veterinarians to continue to provide excellent client service.

Te Puke Veterinary Centre is a mixed veterinary practice but has separate Companion and Production Animal (including a growing equine component) sides which both aim to give innovative, high level advice and services.

The position is for a qualified (a rural technician qualification or equivalent) LAVT that has high work ethic and standards of care, for a fixed term available from immediately, until November 2022 (with the potential to continue on for the right person). Our ideal candidate will be able to work up to 5 days a week (hours and days negotiable for the right candidate), both independently and as part of the production animal team. This position will include all aspects of veterinary technical work such as dry cow and internal teat sealant administration, disbudding, vaccinations and repro programme administration, laboratory work, as well as administrative tasks such as booking work and contacting farmers to assist with their needs. Applicants must be physically fit with good large animal handling and time management skills. Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and stay calm in high pressure situations is essential. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Te Puke Vet Centre is known for its friendly, caring and relaxed work atmosphere, with a great reputation amongst the community. Te Puke is a bustling town nestled in the stunning Bay of Plenty. It is well known for being the Kiwifruit capital of the world, and is a stones throw away from all of the fabulous beaches and sea and lake-side towns in the area, such as Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, the Rotorua lakes and Taupo. The area offers a wide variety of outdoor and recreational activities including fishing, diving, water skiing, mountain biking and tramping.
