HEAD VET NURSE ROLE IN SUNNY NELSON

We are looking for a Head Veterinary Nurse to lead our friendly and dynamic team in Nelson. We need someone to help with the day to day running of the clinic. We’re keen to help people develop and achieve their potential. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and 3+ years’ experience
  • Experience and confidence in leading a veterinary team
  • A compassionate and caring attitude to providing quality care
  • Outstanding communication skills and be a team player
  • Ability to adapt and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to delegate and prioritise, coach and maintain practice standards

Our team is made up of 9 vets and 18 support staff, with a team of 4-5 vets on each day. We are open 7 days offering a large array of surgical and medical services. Our clinic performs all the regular stuff plus endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, orthopaedic surgery, ultrasonography, full IDEXX lab, and physiotherapy.

EXPERIENCED VETERINARY NURSES NEEDED

3+ years experience required.

We are also in the process of building a purpose built clinic in Stoke which is due to open in April 2022 and are seeking staff to work at either location.

Our nurses do LOTS! Our nurses commonly do pre-anaesthetic checks, calculate and give pre-medications, induce anaesthesia including intubation, monitor and recover anaesthetics, place iv catheters, take blood samples, assist surgery, take blood pressure, take x-rays, assist with home visits, take dental x-rays, scale and polish teeth and much more. We want somebody who can motivate the team, look at the big picture and ensure the days run efficiently.

We can help make the move easier for you by offering the use of our fully furnished one- bedroom flat above the clinic while finding a more permanent residence. The clinic is just a 20 minute walk into Nelson City where there are Bars, Restaurants, a Cinema, Shops and Supermarkets. A great location to explore the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park, Nelson Lakes and Golden Bay.
