We are looking for an experienced qualified (diploma or equivalent) veterinary nurse to join our ever expanding team at St Lukes Veterinary Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a 4 vet companion animal practice in a modern, large and recently refurbished clinic and would suit someone who is interested in taking their veterinary nursing skills to the next level.
Our friendly dedicated team is assisted by a well equipped in-house laboratory, dedicated surgical theatre, digital radiology (including dental ) ultrasound, in house laboratory and all the usual ancillary equipment in our spacious hospital.
At St Lukes Veterinary Centre, our philosophy is for nurse to utilize their full range of clinical skills. As well as other general nursing duties you will be placing IV catheters, blood sampling and taking x-rays. You would also be involved in anaesthetising and monitoring patients, and scrubbing in for surgeries. Training can be given in any of these areas where required.
Continuing education is encouraged and supported, with courses, online webinars and Vet Nurse Conferences.
We have a large staff room out back with a sunny private courtyard for relaxing during breaks. There is on-site car parking. Westfield St Lukes is a 2 minute drive away. Health & Sports Gym and Pool is 200m down the road, opposite the Morningside railway station.
Above average remuneration . Currently rostered weekend work is currently 1 in 6 Saturdays with one Monday every 6 weeks off.
We are a fun loving motivated team of 8 nurses & 4 vets, with a passion for animals and caring for them in the best way possible.
Our ideal candidate will have a happy, bubbly personality who enjoys being part of a friendly team. Ideally they will have a minimum of two or more years nursing experience and are keen to take a step up to the next level in their veterinary nursing career. However we may consider someone with less experience for the right candidate.
