Vet Marlborough – Blenheim, New Zealand

We are looking for an experienced vet tech who is also a qualified and experienced vet nurse. This is a dual role with a mix of companion animal nursing and large animal vet tech duties. You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in both roles and be prepared to complete your Vet tech qualification while working for us if not already qualified.

This is a full time roll and during the year the division of the role will change depending on workflow.

 Our nurses’ skills are valued and utilised to a high degree and include but are not limited to: 

• Surgical nursing including orthopaedic & soft tissue surgeries 
• Reproduction 
• IV catheter placement and fluid therapy 
• Blood collection 
• Puppy class 
• Hospital patient care 
• Radiology 
• Laparoscopic surgery 
• Our nurses are supported by an animal care assistant

Our tech role is new but will include:

• Blood taking
• Teat sealing
• FEC & FECRT
• Disbudding
• Pregnancy scanning
• Vaccinations
• Data entry/reports
• Milk quality testing
• Nitrate testing

Responsibilities:

• Conducting routine nursing and Vet tech services for both large and small animals.
• Supporting the veterinary and nursing team who you work with.
• Providing exceptional care while upholding high professional standards

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a vet nursing certificate or diploma and vet tech qualification or experience with the willingness to become qualified.
• Passion for delivering quality care and fostering sustainable farming practices
• Is a confident communicator who can connect with both clients and colleagues
• Is a self-motivated, team player who thrives in a supportive environment.
