National Technical Manager - Meat Services
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join our Meat Services team.
As the Technical Manager you will be responsible for protecting and enabling our Meat Inspection team of Official Assessors, by ensuring all technical, regulatory and accreditation aspects of delivery across New Zealand are achieved.
Our Official Assessors are located across New Zealand at our customer sites, carrying out ante and post mortem meat inspection, training and other regulatory/commercial activities. We operate as the Inspection Agency and utilise the New Zealand domestic meat requirements, OMAR and export requirements and ISO17020. As a regulatory appointed role, it is critical these responsibilities are upheld and that trusted relationships are formed and fostered.
As part of the Technical Team reporting to the Compliance Manager, your days will never be the same. You will be working with the regulator to ensure accurate implementation of their requirements, and the verification agency to respond and implement process improvements. You will also ensure our training programmes are maintained, our trainers supported, our systems remain current and that all technical related KPIs are exceeded.
We are flexible on your base location within NZ, but you must have the ability to travel.
With a relevant Animal Science or Veterinary Degree and 5+ years or more inspection experience (or alternative equivalent technical experience supporting a large national programme) and be able to articulate and simplify the complex through various means of communications.
Along with your technical experience and ability to gain regulatory approval, you will have proven experience in the meat industry. Demonstrated a commitment to working with others, have a strong attention to detail, have initiative and a strong motivation to doing the right thing.
