About Us

Critter Creek is a popular and well established country retreat for pets located just five minutes from Kumeu. We offer dog and cat boarding with Motel and Hotel options to suit the individual. We also have doggy day care for socialising, playing and exercise in the fresh countryside air, with three off-leash paddocks and a forest ready for exploring. Health, safety and cleaning is paramount to us, which helps keep animals happy and well cared for.

 

The Role

We are looking for a superstar animal attendant who can commit to working full time with full flexibility (weekends and public holidays are essential and non-negotiable). 

Duties include:

  • Dog socialisation and monitoring canine behaviour and body language
  • Monitoring daily health and wellbeing of cats and dogs
  • LOTS of cleaning and disinfecting of the facilities to a high standard
  • Exercising dogs in our care both on and off-leash
  • Dog bathing and other husbandry duties
  • Feeding and meal prep
  • Administering medications and monitoring health issues

 

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate MUST have experience in the animal care industry and/or hold a relevant qualification such as:

  • Certificate in Canine Behaviour and Training
  • Certificate in Animal Care
  • Bachelor of Animal Science or Welfare and Management
  • Certificate or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing

  • Confident animal handling skills with all breeds, sizes and temperaments of dogs and cats
  • Passionate about animal welfare

  • Eager to always improve oneself work and knowledge
  • A mature and sincere attitude
  • Physically fit

  • Excellent time management
  • Calm and efficient under pressure and in stressful situations

  • Able to demonstrate initiative, common sense and a willingness to take responsibility
  • A united team player with effective communication, and confident working as an individual
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Own car and license
