Start the New Year with a New Challenge!!

We have a permanent position available starting early January 2024 for a hard-working, motivated, experienced Veterinary Nurse in our busy, small animal hospital. This position is for 3-4 days per week, and is for an experienced nurse, with associated responsibilities such as helping with training of student nurses, stock management, equipment maintenance, running of theatres, nurse consults etc. We have recently finished major renovations which have doubled the available space in our hospital. Check out our Website and Facebook page!

We have a fabulous team of qualified Veterinary Nurses, and they enjoy doing a lot of the technical work such as blood taking, catheter placements, anaesthesia, dental and skeletal x-rays, dental prophylaxis and nurse consults. We also do a lot of complicated surgery and the nurses love scrubbing in for these! We have high level equipment, to provide quality patient care, and we have a really great client base who expect the best.

The Vets and Receptionists you will get to work with are also an incredible bunch. We have a low turnover rate, and many of our team members have been with us for 8-10+ years! We have a very collegial environment, and our team are all very friendly and approachable. Most of the vets have their own special interests that we all love to utilise!

There is scope to develop special interests within the nursing team too, and we encourage all of our staff to get involved in CPD. All of our qualified Veterinary Nurses are registered. If you’re looking for a step up in your nursing career, and want a new challenge, this could be the job for you! The main qualities we look for are a good team spirit and a positive can-do attitude.

If this sounds like you, please send your CV, along with a written application letter, to Michelle Eyre at michelle@millroadvet.co.nz, or drop it into the hospital in person. We look forward to meeting you!
