Position Overview
The Companion Animal Hospital of Massey Vets is seeking TWO PART TIME Kennel Assistants who are caring, motivated, organised and enthusiastic people to join our veterinary support team. We are looking for someone who has a passion for animals, preferably holds a Certificate in Animal Care and wants to work in a stimulating and busy team environment.
As part of this team, you will provide companion animals with their daily feeding requirements and maintain the cages, kennels, and other hospital areas at an acceptable level of hygiene standards.
As we provide 24/7 emergency and in-patient care and you will be required to work between the hours of 6 am – 10 pm on a rostered basis with either an early or late shift and on public holidays.
To be successful in this role, you need to be enthusiastic, motivated, organised, show initiative, have basic IT skills, possess a “can do” attitude, and have excellent communication skills.
Massey’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a state-of-the-art, fast-paced facility offering New Zealand’s most comprehensive veterinary expertise. We are the only 24-hour pet emergency centre in the central North Island so at times we have a high caseload, and our patients require a very high level of nursing care.
MUST-HAVES:
- Certificate in Animal Care.
- A positive attitude and a passion for companion animals.
- Natural empathy toward the cultural, emotional and physical state of our clients and patients alike.
- Efficient and possess good time management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- The ability to be flexible with working hours.
- Be eligible to work in NZ.
