Our Emergency and Critical Care Unit is fast-paced and perfect for the nurse looking to perform advanced skills, such as catheterisation, U-catheter placement, monitoring critical patients on ventilators, and central-line care to name a few! We also have equipment such as ultrasound, CT, in-house diagnostics, onsite pathology, and much more. Our nurse's education and passions are important to us: we have yearly funds and support for ongoing education and a team of 40+ nurses who are supportive and willing to help new staff gain the skills they need to succeed.
This part-time position is 0.9FTE (34.5 hours/week) and includes day, evening, and night shifts: the roster is modeled on human nursing and consists of 6 days on, and 4 days off. Working the 24/7 roster qualifies the nurses for an additional 15% bonus to their salary.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who possesses excellent communication skills, is self-motivated, super organised , and has a passion for education. As part of Massey Vets, you will be involved in the teaching of Bachelor of Veterinary Science. Experience in GP is preferable but not essential for the right candidate.
