SVS Veterinary Supplies is a well-known and major wholesaler within the New Zealand Veterinary market. We are a NZ owned and operated business with 3 branches nationwide in Hamilton, Palmerston North and Christchurch. The company has built a loyal customer base due to it’s strong focus on partnerships and delivering high value adding solutions to its customers. We are looking for someone to join our HR team based in our Hamilton office in Te Rapa.
Reporting to the HR Manager, the primary objective of the role is to assist the HR Manager and the wider SVS group in providing HR support and advice to Managers and team with respect to HR policy and processes, including; recruitment, induction, performance, health & safety, and employment relations. Additionally, the role will manage the e-marketing initiatives for SVS and communication to all team members, including drafting our monthly team newsletter content called ‘The Vine’. SVS also has a consulting business, so the position will assist the HR Consultants with a wide range of HR services to clients with the aim of growing that business.
To be successful, you will need previous experience in an HR support role across all HR functions, with the ability to provide a high competency in drafting and writing documentation and transactional HR support. Well-developed listening and communication skills, with an engaging manner and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and attention to detail are also sought-after qualities. You will be process orientated, show initiative and have an ability to manage highly confidential material with integrity. Customer orientation, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to learn quickly and to work autonomously will ensure success in the role, as will exceptional organisation and administrative skills. You will need to have the ability to be able to work across multiple and varied projects simultaneously with highly proficient computer and keyboard skills. A tertiary qualification in HR or Business Studies would be preferred, as would familiarity with HR and employment relations legislation.
