McMaster & Heap Veterinary practice was founded in 1999 and employs 11 vets and 23 nurses. We are privately owned and proud of what we do for people and pets. We are a very capable, compassionate, hard working team of vets who collaborate on cases, are proud and respect our colleagues work and are driven to help other people and pets every day.
We also see referrals in ophthalmology, ultrasonography, chemotherapy, endoscopy and medicine. We have veterinarians with interests in soft tissue surgery, dermatology and dentistry.
Just over a year ago, we built a gorgeous edition to our existing practice, allowing us to see and triage cats and dogs in separate areas of our hospital.
We have also built a dedicated surgical suite and theatre area for high end surgery to enable delivery of surgical excellence.
We have offered referral surgery for the past 15 months at McMaster & Heap. The surgical equipment has been meticulously set up by Dr Helen Milner. We have everything required to facilitate an exceptional standard of care including Synthes Airpen and De Soutter Vdrive twin trigger with TPLO attachments et al.
A skilled surgical nursing team is also in place.
It is our aim to continue offering a surgical referral service to our primary clients and the greater Canterbury area.
We run Ezyvet software and have Smartflow patient monitoring. We have a full Idexx suite, digital radiography, cardell monitoring and capnography and much more.
We regularly take patients to CT and MRI through Pacific Radiology.
