Our Values: Think Team, Do the right thing, Challenge, Commit and Deliver

Join Anexa Veterinary Services in a Vet Nurse role as part of our Morrinsville team. This is a varied role in which you will be an important part in supporting the day to day running of the clinic, alongside the companion animal team.

About us

Anexa Veterinary Services is a group of clinics across the Waikato and Hauraki Plains providing services to both companion animals and farming clients. Each of our clinics are unique but at Anexa we are one team.

About the clinic

Our Morrinsville clinic is committed to growing their companion animal business and delivering the best service to clients and their beloved pets. It is a fast-paced clinic where no two days are the same. It is imperative that you are a team player and love getting stuck in to get the job done.

It is a mixed practice with a companion animal team currently consisting of 2-3 veterinarians (day-dependent) and 2 nurses.

The clinic is equipped with:

  •  Idexx haematology and biochemistry in-house blood machines
  • Internal laboratory with dedicated lab technicians and microbiologists
  • Anaesthetic monitoring equipment including ECG, pulse oximetry, apnoea alert, temperature probe and blood pressure measurement
  • Digital x-rays and ultrasound
  • Two consulting rooms, a large treatment room and a separate sterile surgery room
  • Separate kennel room, plus separate isolation room

About the role

Due to an internal move within the business, this is an exciting opportunity to support or lead the day to day running of the clinic, experience dependent, and to have significant input in creating an efficient service for pets, clients, and our vets.

You will be a first port of call for our companion animal vets and will be integral to supporting client relationships. Surgical support, anaesthesia, patient monitoring and treatment, admitting and discharging pets and communicating with clients will be the main priorities of this role. Nurse consults e.g. post-operative checks, dental checks etc are also an important aspect that we would like to grow.

There are significant development opportunities available in this role. You will play a valuable part in developing the breadth and efficiency of our day to day companion animal services while being well-supported with ongoing clinical CPD (both internal and external). Anexa recognises the importance of supporting our nurses to continually grow their clinical knowledge and skill set.

About you

You will be a qualified and experienced Vet Nurse. Team leadership experience is preferable but not essential. You will show initiative and be dedicated to providing the best care and service to all clients and their pets. You will be computer literate and have excellent written and verbal skills.

You will thrive in a busy environment, have great rapport with clients and their pets and pride yourself in fostering positive relationships with all our valued Morrinsville clients. The ideal candidate will always be looking to drive the day forward in an efficient manner; aiming to be one step ahead of the veterinarian, showing initiative and pre-empting their requirements.

The words efficient, driven, and proactive describe your work ethic. You aim to provide a high level of care and service to companion animals that not only meets, but regularly exceeds, our clients’ expectations.
